Luftwaffe : field and flak divisions
Robert Kirchubel Dmitriy Zgonnik Издательство: Concord Publications
Изображения: цветные и черно-белые фото, цветные рисункиThe relative ease of the German conquests prior to their invasion of the USSR (Operation Barbarossa) disguised many of the Luftwaffes inherent weaknesses. Even the consequences of the Battle of Britain, which Hitler pursued only half-heartedly, were not exposed until years after the fact. Despite the Luftwaffes stunning initial successes against the Red Army Air Force, the invasion of the Soviet Union had an immediate negative impact on the Luftwaffe: its losses on Barbarossas first day (92 aircraft on 22 June 1941) exceed those of the Battle of Britains deadliest day (79 aircraft on 15 September 1940).

A Quest for a General Theory of Leadership (New Horizons in Leadership Studies)
George R Goethals; Georgia Jones Sorenson; Netlibrary, Inc
In this compelling volume, top scholars from diverse fields describe the progress they have made in developing a general theory of leadership. Led by James MacGregor Burns, Pulitzer Prize winning author of the classic Leadership (1978), they tell the story of this intellectual venture and the conclusions and questions that arose from it. The early chapters describe how, in order to discuss an integrative theory, the group first wrestled with the nature of theory as well as basic aspects of the human condition that make leadership necessary and possible. They then tackle topics such as: the many faces of power woven into the leadership fabric; crucial elements of group dynamics and the leader-follower relationship; ethical issues lying at the heart of leadership; constructivist perspectives on leadership, causality, and social change; and the historical and cultural contexts that influence and are influenced by leadership. The book concludes with a commentary by Joanne Ciulla and an Afterword by James MacGregor Burns. The contributors' thorough coverage of leadership, as well as their approach to this unique undertaking, will be of great interest to leaders, students and scholars of leadership.
Assia Djebar: Out of Algeria (Liverpool University Press - Contemporary French & Francophone Cultures)
For more than fifty years, Assia Djebar has used the tools of poetry, fiction, drama, and film to vividly portray the complex world of Muslim women. In the process, she has become one of the most important figures in North African literature. In Assia Djebar, Jane Hiddleston traces Djebar’s development as a writer against the backdrop of North Africa’s tumultuous history. Djebar’s early writings were largely an attempt to delineate the experience of being a woman, an intellectual, and an Algerian, but her more recent work evinces a growing sense that the influence of French culture on Algerian letters may make such a project impossible. The first book-length study of this indispensable writer, Assia Djebar will interest scholars of postcolonial literature, women’s studies, or francophone culture.

Armour Battles on the Eastern Front: Downfall of the Reich 1943-1945 v. 2
72 pages, 179 photos, 16 color profiles. The Second volume of the "armor Battles on the Eastern Front". Robert Michulec's efforts have been rewarded with his search throughout Eastern European archives and private collections to bring the readers many unique not-before-published wartime photos to fill the book. This book begins with the battle of Voronezh in January 1943 and continues to the battle of Berlin in 1945. Mid 1943 saw the Germans at high tide. In addition, from then on, the downfall of the Third Reich was inevitable. Armor from both sides of the conflict are captured in photo, this time the Soviet armor advancing, while German armor demolished. Many unpublished photos of interesting vehicles like Elefant, Whirbelwind, Bergepanther, IS-2, Soviet Sherman are included in the book. With the interest of German and Soviet armor models among modelers, this book should be an excellent reference material for the modelers. Artists, A. Wrobel and W. Kloriski provide good camouflage and markings in the color profiles.
